HOW TO COMMISSION ARTWORK

DEPOSIT

I require a 25% non-refundable deposit prior to starting commissioned artwork. Deposits are non refundable except in the unfortunate event where I would be unable to finish your artwork, whereby I will refund your deposit in full. 

REFERENCE PHOTOS

I will need a high-resolution clear photo or two of the subject(s).  If there are any unique details that you would like included in the artwork please be sure to include them in the photos if possible. If you need help picking out photos, I would be happy to help.  If you are within a reasonable driving distance from where I live, an appointment can be scheduled for me to photograph the subject(s).  There will be no extra charge for this service.  For automotive artwork, I may already have photos that can be used for the artwork. Just let me know what year, make, and model vehicle you want drawn. 

TIME FRAME & APPROVAL

 If the artwork is needed by a specific time, please let me know in advance and I will do what I can to accommodate your request.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for the completion of most artwork and additional time for shipping.  Larger artwork may take longer to complete depending on the size and complexity of the piece.  Acrylic paintings may require extra time for varnishing.  I can send progress photos via email or social media throughout the creative process.  


 Prior to starting a commission I can, upon request, create a preliminary drawing.  If you approve of this preliminary drawing, I will start the artwork.  This is helpful when there are several subjects in one piece of artwork.  This will show the composition of the work.  A watermarked image of the finished artwork will be emailed or texted to you for your approval.  The watermark will not be on the finished artwork, it is only for web viewing.  After your approval of the finished artwork, the remainder of the balance due is to be paid in full prior to shipping the artwork or delivering if local. 

FRAMING & MATTING

Matting and framing can be provided for local customers depending on the size of the artwork.  I will provide the framing and matting materials.  The price for matting and framing depends upon the size of the artwork.  Typically, I only charge the list price of the frame and mat.  

FINAL PAYMENT

Payment types accepted:  MasterCard, Visa, and Discover through PayPal (no PayPal account is necessary to do this), PayPal, postal money orders,  and personal checks.  All payments must clear before I ship or deliver the artwork.   

SHIPPING

I ship USPS mail.  All artwork will be shipped within 3-5 business days after your approval and the final payment clears.  The shipping prices are not included in my prices and may vary depending on the size of the artwork and the shipping location.   If you need alternative shipping, please let me know.
